What Is Emsculpt?
The appearance of your skin is impacted by many factors, including its tightness, the amount of underlying fat, and how toned your muscles are.

The appearance of your skin is impacted by many factors, including its tightness, the amount of underlying fat, and how toned your muscles are. Emsculpt is a device designed to address all three. It provides a non-invasive, non-surgical means to more quickly metabolize fat and build muscle. The process is painless and requires no anesthesia or incisions.

How Does Emsculpt Work?

Used for skin tightening and body contouring, it can be effective on the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and upper arms. The procedure is FDA-approved and uses High Intensity, Focused Electro-Magnetic, or HIFEM, energy. Magnetic energy triggers muscle contractions. Clinicians can trigger different patterns of muscle contractions depending on the desired results.

Muscle contractions can help improve tone and definition by building new muscle mass. In the process, the inner structure of muscles changes and is remodeled. The muscle action also boosts fat metabolism by destroying fat cells in a process known as lipolysis. A single treatment can achieve the results of about 20,000 sit-ups or squats—without the hard work!

What Kind of Results Can I Expect?

Clients have experienced lasting results in treated areas when other sculpting methods weren’t effective. In clinical studies, treatments achieved (on average) a 19% reduction of fat and a 16% increase in muscle mass. There was also an average of 1.5 inches lost in waistline circumference. In people who received buttocks treatment, 80% had visible lifting after the use of magnetic energy. A reduction in diastasis recti, or separation of abdominal muscles after pregnancy, has also been observed.

Are There Any After Effects?

Stimulation of supramaximal muscles during treatment feels like a difficult workout but is not painful. Patients are typically very comfortable during the procedure, which is considered very safe. Mild soreness can persist for a day but is similar to the sensation felt after working out. In most cases, patients can resume normal activity immediately after the treatment.

How Long Does Emsculpt Take?

Each treatment lasts for 30 minutes. Studies have found that four treatments (two per week, for two weeks) on the abdomen and buttocks achieves the best results. Maintenance treatments can be applied thereafter, typically every three to six months.

Will Emsculpt Help Me Lose Weight?

A healthy diet and exercise regiment are recommended. With a healthy lifestyle, you can keep off the weight. Eating fatty foods and limiting exercise can lead to an increase in fat, potentially counteracting the effects of the treatment. Accumulated fat storage may be disproportionate in untreated areas.
